IEAutomation tool allows you to automate Internet Explorer. It provides you with an easy way to control Internet Explorer and full access to its HTML content using Windows© Script Components technology from Microsoft©. IEAutomation scripts are implemented using JScript©.

Browser Main Scripts.

  The browser main script implements IWebBrowser2 interface. IEAutomation scripts fully support Windows© Script Components functionality including debugging the scripts.

  1. Creating browser main script.
    Click "New" button under "Browser main scripts" tree control. Type a name of your script in "Save WebBrowser Script" dialog and click save button.

  2. Deleting browser main script.
    Select the script you want to delete and click "Delete" button under "Browser main scripts" tree control. You can delete script only if it's not attached (See "Attached scripts" list box for attached scripts and make sure the script you want to delete is not checked.

  3. Editing browser main script.
    Double click on the script you want to edit; the script will open in the default editor.

  4. Attaching (running) browser main script.
    Check the script you want to attach (run).

URL Bound Scripts.

In addition to the browser main script you can create scripts which implement HTMLWindowEvents interface.HTMLWindowEvents based scripts can be bound to a particular URL resource or to a web site. Once HTMLWindowEvents based script is checked and browser main script associated with this script is also checked the script will be attached when an URL, for which the script is created, is being navigated to.

  1. Creating URL scripts.
    Click "New" button under "URL scripts" tree control. If the browser have collected any URLs while browser main script has been attached you will see all collected URLs in "Add scripts for ..." dialog. You can select a type of scripts by changing selection of "Create scripts for" dropdown list box. Check appropriate scripts you want to create and click "Create".

  2. Deleting URL script.
    Select the script you want to delete and click "Delete" button under "URL scripts" tree control. You can delete script only if it's not attached (See "Attached scripts" list box for attached scripts, or make sure the script you want to delete is not checked.

  3. Editing URL script.
    Double click on the script you want to edit; the script will open in the default editor.

  4. Viewing URL scripts associated with the browser main script. In order to see associated URL scripts you need to select (click) browser main script at any time.
